The Historical Sew Fortnightly Challenge 2014
Last year I found this great year long Historical Sewing project, made up of 26 challenges.
It sounded like a great thing to get involved in. I thought I'd try for half, but alas I made it through 3 before I got busy.
This year I'm trying again, let's see how far I make it.
Here is the Challenge: How It Works link & the Facebook page to ask questions, post ideas & completed challenges.
There are so many talented people involved, I am in awe of what some people are creating in 2-6 week blocks.
So now I've decided to blog about it too. Let's see how long that lasts too.
Challenge #1- Make Do and Mend
Technically this was not historical, but vintage, as it's a 1960's pattern. I only found the challenge 2 days before it was due, so I snuck this in & it wasn't rejected.
I added one of my little Japanese style Flowers brooch pins to tie the red shoes in.
With bride-to-be, Kellee, & friend, Ingrid, at Fortnums Tea Rooms, Sassafrass Victoria.
That summer frock is so sweet. How can it be I've never seen gingham with broderie edge??? You make Kanzashi too! I love them :)
